ABOUT US
We are a family of eight, living in rural Cambridge, and
looking forward to sharing our beautiful space with eighty
or so pre-school children!
Our
dream of opening a centre has been in the pipeline for a very
long time, and it is exciting to finally have it as our reality.
Having lots of children is our only experience in the industry,
so naturally we will be supported by excellent and qualified
staff, and our full time manager, Jayne Dahlberg. Craig, always
the handyman, will be taking care of business with the maintanance
and creation of new play equipment, and Jo will be doing as
she is told by the people who know best...
We have been exceptionally lucky to have wonderful Early
Childhood Centres already in place in Cambridge from which
to model our own, while integrating our ideas. Robyn from
Learning Curves in Morrinsville has been a fabulous mentor
helping us along each step of the way, and Sally from Treetown
has supported us not only by caring for two of our brood,
but by intelligently answering any number of silly questions
in our long process!
Our children Nick, Hunter and Cole will be attending Little
Einsteins, while our middle child Laura goes to Hautapu Primary
School. Daniel and Ashleigh are at Cambridge High.
Monty, Shaggy, Bella and Dia are the resident alpacas. Curious
and friendly, they love to be fed pellets by the children.
Biscuit, Toffee, baby Poppy and Chocolate are the Centres'
Miniature Ponies. They love to be ridden, groomed and cuddled.
Toffee can pull a cart, so we hope to have occasional cart
rides!
Fifi and Bob are our very amorous dwarf-lop-eared rabbits.
They regularly delight us with new baby bunnies, it's great
to watch them grow! Their buddies are two fluffy guinea pigs,
Hairy McLeary and his yet-un-named brother.
Mowgli and Bobby are the resident calves. Very sweet, and
very friendly, as they have been hand reared. We plan to add
lambs to the chaos next year, so that the children can bottle
feed them.
